    We will continue our efforts to support and implement the UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). In addition, we respect internationally accepted standards related to human rights, such as the Implementing Principles on Business and Human Rights, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and the ILO's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

    Establishment and Implementation of the Human Rights Management Policy

    On January 1, 2017, we established the “Yuhan Chemical Human Rights Management Policy” and are making efforts to manage it systematically.

    Human Rights Management Policy

    We respect and protect human rights, a universal value of mankind, and pursue human rights management throughout our management activities. In addition, we consider all stakeholders who participate in our management activities as one community bound together by a common destiny, and respect their human rights.

    We respect internationally accepted human rights and labor-related standards, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Global Compact, and the core conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), and practice our social responsibility.

    The human rights management policy applies equally to all stakeholders, including the executives and employees, partners, and customers of Yuhan Chemical. In order to practice human rights management and prevent violations of human rights, we establish and operate a human rights management system, including training, grievance handling, and rights relief procedures.

    We declare the following principles of human rights management to practice human rights management.

    Article 1 (Human Respect)

    We respect all executives and employees as equal human beings and actively strive to prevent inhumane treatment, either mentally or physically. If inhumane behaviors such as violence, sexual violence, sexual harassment, sexual abuse, corporal punishment, swear words, harassment, or public humiliation are confirmed, we will take strict actions in accordance with the disciplinary regulations.

    Article 2 (Prohibition of Discrimination)

    We do not discriminate against executives and employees in terms of employment including employment, promotion, training, compensation, welfare, etc. on the grounds of race, nationality, gender, religion, disability, age, political opinion, or social status.

    Article 3 (Guarantee of Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining)

    We provide sufficient opportunities for communication, guarantee freedom of association, and do not subject employees to unfavorable treatment on account of their membership, activity, or formation of a labor union. In addition, we guarantee the right to collective bargaining through worker representatives, respect the results, and faithfully implement them.

    Article 4 (Prohibition of Forced Labor)

    We do not request any form of forced labor (debt labor, slave labor, etc.) that causes unfair restriction of mental or physical freedom. Additionally, we do not force workers to work against their free will.

    Article 5 (Prohibition of Child Labor)

    We prohibit all forms of child labor. When hiring an underage person, we strictly comply with working conditions and procedures in accordance with relevant laws and ensure that education opportunities are not limited.

    Article 6 (Wages and Welfare Benefits)

    All executives and employees are paid at least the minimum wage in accordance with labor-related laws and regulations along with a paystub, and when unavoidable overtime work is required, overtime compensation is paid in accordance with the same laws and regulations. Through the welfare system, we seek to improve the quality of executives and employees’ life stability and motivation to work, and contribute to sound economic development.

    Article 7 (Guarantee of Industrial Safety)

    We support all executives and employees to work in a safe and hygienic environment. We comply with industrial safety-related laws, including regular inspections within workplaces, and check and improve upon risk factors to prevent industrial disasters in advance.

    Article 8 (Responsible Supply Chain Management)

    We support all partners, including suppliers, to practice human rights management.

    Article 9 (Protection of Human Rights of Local Residents)

    We respect and protect the human rights of local residents, including their safety and freedom of residence, from being violated due to our management activities, and cooperate with them for the development of the local community.

    Article 10 (Protection of Customers’ Human Rights and Information)

    When providing products and services, we prioritize protecting the lives, health, and property of customers. We respect customers' privacy as much as possible and take the best measures to ensure the security of personal information collected through management activities.

    Conducting Human Rights Training

    We conduct preventive training once a year to prevent sexual harassment and bullying at the workplace, and improve awareness of the disabled in order to cultivate human rights awareness among the members of the Company and protect human rights, and strive to ensure that all executives and employees complete the training.
